Social Media Community

By sharing insights into the everyday life at Wayfield, we have brought the community closer to our work and removed barriers - both visible and imperceptible - to learning and engagement. Our integrated Apple ecosystem has underpinned this commitment.
The iPad allows us to capture treasured learning moments on topic trips, sporting tournaments and adventurous activities. We can post this media through our internal Apple TV network and across our online platforms. Sharing a variety of material in this ongoing way enables parents to observe their children’s development and successes in an unrivalled way. It also teaches children about the importance of personal data as well as how to interact responsibly with social media communities and manage their virtual profile.
Our annual parent survey has regularly cited the importance of feeling involved and able to participate, even if work commitments and a busy life mean a parent is unable to actively engage with school life as often as they would wish. The collective combination of Apple hardware and software allows for greater transparency, which in turn has led to increased esteem within the profession and a richer depth of professional respect.
This social networking service allows users to share a wealth of content including pictures, music, videos and articles. Over the years, our use of the platform has evolved. As well as using the website to post relevant notifications, direct parents to pertinent content online and provide an online uniform purchasing service, we also utilise the site for after-school club bookings. As every staff member has an iPad Pro, teachers can post content from their classroom activities and learning on a daily basis. This open-access approach and collective engagement ensures there is a continuous and ongoing dialogue between pupils, parents and practitioners. It reinforces our belief that Apple technology deepens connection, collaboration and creativity with our community.
