Aspiring to Greatness

Our Curriculum

Our Curriculum

Intent

At Wayfield, we aim to offer an irresistible curriculum, built around experiential learning opportunities, based on the 21st Century skills of communication, collaboration and critical thinking. Happiness and well-being are the cornerstones of lifelong learning – we aim to provide the children with opportunities that will develop resilience, independence and innovation. We want our children to have the highest aspirations for themselves, developing the life-skills to enable them to be effective members of society moving beyond Wayfield.  To that end, our curriculum reaches out to the local community, and to the wider world, tapping into the needs and interests of our children, and providing them with memorable experiences that they will treasure forever.

Our curriculum is designed to ensure that every child can experience, learn and achieve whatever their ability, age, disability, gender, race, religion or culture. Parents are encouraged to discuss any concerns they might have in relation to the above with their child’s class teacher in the first instance. Every effort will be made to adapt how we offer aspects of our curriculum if necessary. We are sensitive to children’s protected characteristics and also make every effort to ensure that all school resources reflect our commitment to equal opportunities for all.

If you require further information on the curriculum we teach, please speak with your class teacher or contact the school office on office@wayfield.medway.sch.uk
