Dance

Our dance sessions at Wayfield allow our children to experience a wide variety of dance styles throughout their years. We are delighted to have our specialist teachers from AMG Dance who work across the school. This allows children to be introduced to potential new hobbies developing confidence, joy, team work and a potential passion for dance.  With strong links to topic work theyare encouraged to develop their learning outside of the classroom and are allowed to be creative, turning the classroom-based knowledge to a dance performance. 

The dance curriculum at Wayfield, which is delivered to each class twice per week, allows all children to learn dance technique, vocabulary, choreography and performance skills, in a variety of dance styles. Children will get the opportunity to perform their dances to their peers in lessons, at the end of term school productions or at external dance events.  This encompasses the core values of Wayfield, encouraging the pupils to be adventurous in and out of lessons and gain skills that they can continue to use throughout their school journey as they move beyond Wayfield.
