Letter to parents and CAF [common application form].

In accordance with Medway Council’s Admissions to Primary School Booklet 2016, Medway Coordinated Scheme 2016 [& Admission Policy/Determined Arrangements 2016], the School Admissions Code and the Schools Admissions Appeals Code.

If you have applied for a school place in Year R and completed a Common Application Form, submitted to Medway Council on/before the national deadline date of 15 January 2016, then please note the following key dates:

Monday, 18 April, 2016
Offer emails and letters, for a place in Year R, will be sent to parents, however, it may not be the school of your choice.

Wednesday, 18 May, 2016
Places must be accepted/refused and requests to go on a waiting list and appeals must be submitted BY this date.  See page 14-16 of the Admissions to Primary School Booklet 2016. If you are appealing for a place at Wayfield Primary School, please return the Appeal Form to the Headteacher BY this date to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 20 July.

From this date; The Local Authority re-allocates any places that have become available to those who have asked to go on the waiting lists for each school

This is the latest date by which your appeal may be heard, providing your appeal was lodged by the deadline date of 18 May.

Appeals

If your child is due to start primary, infant or junior school in 2016 you can appeal between 18 April and 17 May 2016 to guarantee that your appeal is heard by 18 July 2016. Appeals made after this date will be heard within 40 school days of 20 July or 30 school days after being made, whichever is the later date.

 

Casual Admission Appeals

Parents/carers have the right to appeal if a place is not offered to their child. Appeals will be handled in line with the School Admissions Appeals Code. Appeals will be heard within 30 days of submitting the request.
