Admissions to Year R, September 2017

 

In accordance with Medway Council’s Admissions to Primary School Booklet 2017, Medway Coordinated Scheme 2017 & our own Admissions Policy/Determined Admission Arrangements 2017, the School Admissions Code and the Schools Admissions Appeals Code.

If you have applied for a school place in Year R and completed a Common Application Form, submitted to Medway Council on/before the national deadline date of 16 January 2017, then please note the following key dates:

Tuesday, 18 April, 2017
Offer emails and letters, for a place in Year R, will be sent to parents, however, it may not be the school of your choice.

Wednesday, 17 May, 2017
Places must be accepted/refused and requests to go on a waiting list and appeals must be submitted BY this date.  See page 15-16 of the Admissions to Primary School Booklet 2017. If you are appealing for a place at Wayfield Primary School, please return the Appeal Form to the Head Teacher of Wayfield Primary School BY this date to guarantee that your appeal will be heard by 19 July.

Wednesday, 24 May 2017
From this date; The Local Authority re-allocates any places that have become available to those who have asked to go on the waiting lists for each school

19 July, 2017
This is the latest date by which your appeal may be heard, providing your appeal was lodged by the deadline date of 17 May.

Appeals

If your child is due to start primary, infant or junior school in 2017 you can appeal between 18 April and 17 May 2017 to guarantee that your appeal is heard by 19 July 2017. Appeals made after this date will be heard within 40 school days of 19 July or 30 school days after being made, whichever is the later date.

Casual Admission Appeals Parents/carers have the right to appeal if a place is not offered to their child. Appeals will be handled in line with the School Admissions Appeals Code. Appeals will be heard within 30 days of submitting the request.
